1. Some things I learned about watermelon this week…
I love watermelon. It’s a refreshing and tasty summer snack. I saw this video from a Dr. Pompa about watermelon that did two things… reminded me why we buy organic almost always… and… boosted my excitement about eating it because of the nutrients it provides. Not sure if his info on the water content of each piece of watermelon is accurate, but that doesn’t matter. Here’s that quick video that will likely increase your knowledge about watermelon…
2. Great quote and illustration I saw this week…
I was sent an illustration with a great (and very true) quote this week (Thanks, Alie R.!) See it below… AND… give it some thought!
3. Wellness tip…
Most people travel. Too few people spend time outside. Combining travel with the outdoors is a super healthy option. Beach trips, snorkeling or scuba, hiking national parks, camping, hunting, and fishing are great ways to combine exercise, getting outdoors, disconnecting for a bit, and reconnecting with nature. A trip this past week fishing in Canada with my son, Kyle, reminded me how important, how relaxing, and how fun it is to get off the grid. And it’s even better when you’re with good people. Trips that involve nature, combined with periods without cell phone reception, are good for the body, mind, and soul! (Thanks, Dean G., for setting up this phenomenal trip!) And because I know I’ll get the question from many of you… yes… we caught LOTS of fish.🎣
