1. Wellness tip…
As the weather breaks from time to time, we need to capitalize on it. GET OUTSIDE!!! The best exercises are walking, hiking, biking, running, etc. It was sooooo good to see my neighborhood booming with outside activity this week. The fresh air, the sunshine, and moving your body are critical to optimizing function, mood, hormone balance, immune strength, and overall health. Let’s enjoy the nicer weather as spring rolls in. Here is a pic of the sunrise this morning. So grateful for scenes like this…
2. Information I revisited this week…
As I was reflecting this week on why I am so concerned about this experimental vaccine (aside from the factual data I discovered in my 30+ hours of research this past week), it hit me that deep down there is mistrust. The drug companies running the show scare me. Why? Because their criminal history reads like that of organized crime (wait… it is organized crime!). Anyway, I revisited old articles about illegal activities, fines, penalties, and lawsuits related to Pfizer. Frankly, it left me even more scared. One published paper I came across on the website of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), by Robert G. Evans, summed it up pretty well… “Pfizer has been a “habitual offender,” persistently engaging in illegal and corrupt marketing practices, bribing physicians and suppressing adverse trial results. Since 2002, the company and its subsidiaries have been assessed $3 billion in criminal convictions, civil penalties and jury awards. The $2.3-billion settlement in September 2009… set a new record for both criminal fines and total penalties.” Some will say that I am too harsh on this topic, but we can’t keep relying on “hindsight is 20/20” when we can anticipate problems ahead of time. Here is a must-watch 5-minute video clip that I felt did a good job of summarizing some facts. (If I go missing… this post might be the reason. Haha!)
2. Documentary we watched this week…
Last night, we watched Tiger, the two-part documentary about the rise and fall of Tiger Woods (on HBOMax). We planned on only watching half of the first one (they are 1.5 hours each), but ended up watching both. I strongly recommend it. It is intriguing… upsetting… surprising… and, what I may have felt most, sad. These cautionary tales are important to see, as they are far too common. I remember when things fell apart for him, the primary emotion I felt was bummed out. I had an image (like most people) of him being this amazing athlete, super successful, a great role model, and having this tight knit, loving family. Damn! Boy, were we wrong. Here is the trailer…
