1. Person I’m grateful for this week…
I have an amazing staff! Sue, Joy, and Alie are all so committed to our mission of helping as many people as possible. Sue has been with me for over 20 years! Wow! Sue is our resident holiday/seasonal decorator, and is so good at it. I wanted to share some pics of what she put together this holiday season… it is so well done. Patients are always commenting on it. Thanks, Sue, for sharing your talent with all of us and making the office look so good.
2. Pleasant surprise I had this week…
We were at my son’s wrestling tournament in Solon last weekend and needed something to eat. Lana and I reluctantly headed to the concession stand to see if there was anything that we would be willing to eat. To our surprise, there was another food vendor there, serving healthy, organic, real food. We couldn’t believe it. As we read the menu… organic, free-range turkey panini sandwich with gluten-free bread… vegetable poke bowl… organic veggies and hummus plate… and more… my sister, who was there with us, looked at us and asked… “Are we being punked?” Haha! Well, the food was awesome. It was Pure Blend Smoothie and Café, which has a location there in Solon. I love and commend places like this for making these healthier choices available. We got to meet and talk to the owners, Mike and Lauren, who are great. They are working hard and committed to helping their community have healthier food choices. We have already been back to their restaurant for lunch, and it was delicious. I encourage you to try them out and support them if you are local, at 33200 Station Street, Solon, Ohio. They also have take-out, so you can call ahead… 440-523-0099. You can visit their website at pureblendsmoothie.com.
3. Concept I’m pondering…
I’m a very good procrastinator. I’m working on getting things done quicker and sooner, trying not to put things off. I read something earlier this week in Ryan Holiday’s book, Stillness is the Key, that really resonated with me. Think about what you could/should be doing that you have been putting off. Commit to getting those things done. Here are those words from Ryan Holiday… “When you defer and delay, interest is accumulating. The bill still comes due… and it will be even harder to afford then than it will be right now.”
